Maya Kamachi
I am a fourth-generation Japanese Canadian artist based in Vancouver, living and working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. As an Emily Carr University of Art + Design graduate, my practice spans both functional and sculptural forms, with a deep focus on themes of Japanese diasporic identity, generational trauma, and grief surrounding the incarceration of Japanese Canadians during World War II.
Iām currently available for commissions
